Music – Early Days

Harry started playing drums in the 5th grade and was an All-City percussionist while attending (Houston) Spring Branch Junior High. He soon branched out to jazz drum kit, studying with Ken Morehead. While a student at Memorial High School he learned covers with friends, and made original music with Bradley Royds. While a student at the University of Texas he played in multiple ensembles and he studied West African percussion (among other things) in Accra, Ghana.

As a drummer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, Harry has recorded and/or performed with Blue Coffee, The Argyles, Teal Thompson, The Inbetween Us, Eggbo, Miss Xanna Don’t and The Wanted, Irene’s Cuisine, The Upper Ten, Thom Loftus, Bright Brown, Jay Furtado, Kim Garrison, Starstrewn and Tattered, and many others.

In 1996 he recorded his first set of original songs. The album (and the name of his ‘band’) was The Sleepers.
